Is ghrta or ghee good for health?

Yes, ghee (made from cow’s milk) is generally considered healthy if it is ethically sourced then considered highly beneficial. The Ayurvedic ghee making process is known as Bilona method.

How to make ghee from milk?

First boil fresh cow’s milk, cool it to room temperature, add a starter yogurt, and let it sit overnight in a warm place to form thick curd.

Churn the curd using a wooden churner in both clockwise and anti-clockwise directions to separate butter from buttermilk.

Heat the separated butter in a thick-bottomed pot on low flame until all water evaporates.

The milk solids in it will sink at the bottom and turn golden brown.

Once the sputtering sound stops you can see clean and golden ghee.

Remove the pot from heat and strain once cooled. Store it in a clean air tight glass jar.
