
सुखासन (Sukhasana) in Sanskrit, Sukha means bliss and Asana means seat or posture. Sukhasana is also known as the easy pose. It is the most easy meditation posture. Sitting in sukhasana helps to calm your brain.
How to perform?
Sit comfortably on the floor or yoga mat.
Sit with legs extended.
Bend one leg and place the foot under the opposite thigh. Similarly, bend the other leg and place the foot under the opposite thigh.
Sit upright and keep your spine straight without strain.
Align your head and neck with your spine.
Rest both hands on your knees with palms facing down or up.
Close your eyes and relax your body.
Sukhasana may help us to improve our posture and reduce stiffness in knees and hips.
We Hindu generally sit in Sukhasana while praying, meditating and eating as it promotes better digestion and strengthens the spine.
