What is Apana Mudra?
Apana translates to ‘downward-moving breath.’ Practicing the Apana mudra can strengthen the digestive system, clear mental blocks, and help regulate the menstrual cycle.
It is also an effective tool for achieving mental clarity and finding inner peace.
How to practice:
To begin, sit in a comfortable meditative posture like Sukhasana (Easy pose).
Bring the tips of your middle and ring fingers to meet your thumb.
Close your eyes and shift your focus to your breathing, maintaining a slow, steady rhythm.
Aim for 5–10 minutes a day, gradually increasing your practice by a minute or two each week.
A clear mind leads to a calm heart.
Note:
Consult with your healthcare provider for guidance, especially if you have existing health conditions or pregnancy.
You can ask for guidance from a qualified yoga instructor about proper technique and avoid discomfort.
